In his statement on the DuBois Institute late in March, Andrew F. Brimmer, chairman of the DuBois Institute advisory board, said that members of the board had asked President Bok and Dean Rosovsky to place a member of the Afro American Studies Department on the board.
However, President Bok--who included no members of the Afro Department on the board when he appointed the 12-members panel in the fall--said at his monthly press conference yesterday that nothing would be done about the situation until the Faculty's ad-hoc committee produces a tenured appointment.
