Applications Rise 16% at B-School Despite Tuition Hike

Application to the Business School increased 16 per cent for the 1975-76 Masters in Business Administration degree program, Lawrence E. Fouraker, dean of the Business School, said yesterday.

The applicant pool rose to a total of 2805, an increase of nearly 400 over last year, despite a 5300 increase in tuition and board.

The rise in applications corresponds to a similar trend in other business schools. Application increased 33 per cent this year at the Dartmouth Graduate School of Business in figures released Tuesday by John Barch, associate director of admissions there.

The greater percentage of undergraduates among the applicant pool reflected an active recruiting effort by business school faculty during the past two years, Barch said,
