Scott Kaufer's article on the proposed rules for honors contained an inaccurate statement, attributed to "a source close to the Ad Board." It is not true that the Committee recommended that a departmental nomination be required for CLGS, and that this proposal was dropped "quite amicably" after objection by members of the Ad Board. The question of departmental recommendation was discussed and rejected by the Committee. Anthony Arlotto Member, Committee on Honors
