ORGANIZING UNIONS

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

To the Editors of The Crimson:

The HEOC would like to extend its thanks for your article in the January 15 Dump Truck on Traudi Schroder and our union drive. However, one factual error must be corrected, as it is fundamental in raising support for our union drive. Secretaries are among the largest segment of employees to be represented, but not the only segment. Among the employees eligible for this union, and a portion of whom are now very active on our Core Committee are the following research assistants, duplicating machinists, computer programmers, library assistants, systems analysis, administrative assistants, mail room workers.

We feel that those associated with the union drive, as well as those who are skeptical of its merits, will benefit from knowing that the employees affected by and involved in forming a union are not only those with secretarial positions. Jane Strunsky   Harvard Employees Organizing Committee
