The mystery man who posed as a Harvard graduate and used phony credentials to get into graduate schools and secure jobs may be the same one who fraudulently attended Columbia University six years ago.
A person who called himself Andy Francias was a member of the Delta Psifraternity in the fall of 1968 at Columbia and is "positively the same guy" according to a fraternity brother who asked to remain anonymous.
Francias, who is described as a tall, black, tweedy type claimed to be the nephew of Adam Clayton Powell. He had allegedly also belonged to an exclusive eating club at Princeton without attending that university, before coming to Columbia.
While living in New Hall, a freshman dorm and attending classes at Columbia, he was rushed by the fraternity, joined;and preceeded to have charge accounts from expensive New York stores sent to the frat's address.
In Novermber 1968, it was discovered that he was not enrolled in the ucollege, a discovery which was partially prompted by the disappearance of things around New Hall, the source said. He disappeared 'all in a rush',leaving several unanswered questions, charge accounts, and rumors about missing articles around the fraternity, the fraternity member said.
