Across the Board

Dean Rosovsky said this week he is considering giving all teaching staff in the Faculty an across-the-board percentage pay raise this year.

Traditionally, tenured Faculty members get yearly raises, but always in individual lump sums, not uniform percentages. Non-tenured Faculty are usually paid according to a set scale, so a percentage raise for everyone would be a first.

Rosovsky wouldn't say when he will reach a final decision on the raise, and he wouldn't say why he is considering the raise--but it seems to be a logical response to inflation.
