It used to be that a few people in the administration would choose new House masters quickly and quietly. But this year, students are getting in on the act, and that apparently slows things up. There are two mastership vacancies still unfilled--Currier and Winthrop--and President Bok said yesterday that he doesn't know when he will fill them.
But the present Currier and Winthrop masters will leave their posts at the end of this academic year, so, Bok said, "we'd better get someone in there by next fall, there's no doubt about that."
