Social Sciences 118, "Democratic Theory and Its Critics," and Government 207, "American Political Thought," will not be offered for credit this semester, the University announced yesterday.

Louis Hartz, professor of Government, who teaches the two courses, is officially on leave of absence this semester. Hartz said yesterday that he intends to offer the courses without credit for interested students.
