To The Editors of The Crimson:
Wednesday evening, Feb, 13, I attended the British television film, shown in Hilles library, entitled "Viet Nam--A Question of Torture." I learned that 80% of the funds which support the Thieu government are supplied by the U.S. government, that there are presently about 200,000 political prisoners in South Viet Nam, that seventy-year-old women and fifteen-year-old children are tortured when suspected of sympathizing with "the other side," that thousands of people--men and women--are imprisoned in tiger cages, and that those who are kept in the cages for a few years experience atrophy of the leg muscles and are unable ever to walk again. I learned that lime is used to "control" the prisoners in tiger cages so that many prisoners emerge not only paralyzed but blind and burned as well. I learned that tiger cages are manufactured in the U.S. and that U.S. advisors continue to help run South Viet Namese prisons.
The audience at this film numbered fifteen. Deborah B. Leiderman '76
