Havlicek and Celtics Thrash Hawks

John Havlicek scored 34 points last night to lead the Boston Celtics to a 116-109 victory over the Atlanta Hawks in the Garden.

Boston spotted Atlanta a quick ten-point lead, before storming back behind the play of Havlicek and Paul Silas, who netted 21 points. Silas also grabbed 24 rebounds on the evening as Boston evened its record to 2-2.

Atlanta's Lou Hudson was the game's high scorer with 36 points.
