HANOVER, N.H.--Freshman Eddie Blades knifed his way through the pack of Big Green and Crimson runners here yesterday to lead the Harvard J.V. cross country squad to a resounding 19-44 washout of Dartmouth.
It was a close shave for Blades, as he defeated his Dartmouth opponent by a narrow eight second margin to capture first place honors, finishing with a time of 24:40.
Harvard effected the rout by taking the third through seventh places. Dirk Skinner, recovering from injuries that have kept him from running varsity, took the number three spot. He was followed by Steve Fisher, Chris Bickerton, Don Jurivick and John Pickering.
The win marked the 16th consecutive J.V. victory over the Big Green runners.
