UFW Supporters Outline New Plans For Spring Term

Harvard supporters of the United Farm Workers (UFW) decided last night to switch the main thrust of their effort from the A & P store on Linnaean St. to the company's store on Mass Ave in hopes of gaining greater support from Harvard Houses and the Yard.

They also resolved to begin picketing small grocery stores in the Square.

The group, consisting of about 14 Harvard-Radcliffe students and two members from the Cambridge branch of UFW, also outlined plans to increase student participation in union activities.

All present agreed on the need to mount a general education program on farm labor issues.

Marry Lassen '75, an organizer of Harvard support for UFW, proposed that an information slide show be presented in each of the houses soon after the start of the second semester.

"Now is the important time to build up the boycott," she said. "Unless victories are won this year, the possibilities will be less hopeful in the future."

UFW supporters plan to begin picketting the A&P store at Mass Ave and Mt. Auburn St. as soon as possible.
