Crimson Opens Football Season

Harvard throws itself into another football campaign today, meeting the University of Massachusetts at 1:30 p.m. in the Stadium. The game shapes up as a test of the Crimson's inexperience against the vaunted passing attack of Peil Pennington.

A year ago, Pennington ruined the Crimson debut by humbling Harvard, 28-19. Since then another year of indoctrination into the Restic system has passed. Today will reveal how much of the Restic complexity has sunk in for the Harvard squad.

Resticball has brought nothing but frustration for Harvard fans in its first two seasons. Will today's game signify a break from the mediocrity of the past two years or will it indicate another year of the same? Story on page five.
