Recent statistics released by the Harvard University Police indicate that two major crimes as well as thefts totaling $4,468 occurred during the week ending July 14.
One attempted robbery victim received a knife cut on the arm while using a fourth floor stairwell in Holyoke Center. The Harvard Police urged all employees to refrain when possible from using the stairs to travel between floors.
Another theft attempt occurred on July 11 in a Baker Library Computing Room which is open 24 hours a day.
The July 1-22 Harvard crime picture includes two armed robberies, two attempted armed robberies, three assaults, 29 bicycle thefts, 12 cases of vandalism, one exhibitionist, one bomb scare, and 55 larcenies.
The Harvard Police yesterday continued to recommend that both students and employees watch their belongings and keep their doors locked.
