DOONESBURY LIVES

The Mail

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

To the Editors of The Crimson:

In the Harvard Crimson issue of Monday, June 4, the headline on Page One pertaining to the "Doonesbury" cartoon reads, "Globe, Pose Cancel 'Doonesbury' Strip."

In the story itself, the creator of "Doonesbury," Garry Trudeau, is quoted as saying "...that individual strips have been cancelled in various newspapers several times in the two years Doonesbury has been syndicated..."

Permit me to emphasize that we left out two sequences of "Doonesbury," specifically, the Tuesday, May 29, and Saturday, June 2, sequences, but we have no intention of cancelling "Doonesbury." We merely left out the two sequences of "Doonesbury" for reasons explained in your story. We consider it one of our best comic strips and so do many of our readers. Otto Zeusmer Associate Editor
