Orlando Cepeda, designated hitter for the Boston Red Sox, belted a grand slam homer last night to lead the Red Sox to a 6-2 victory over the Texas Rangers.

Cepeda drilled his sixth homer of the season and the ninth bases-loaded slam of his career to lead the Sox in a five-run third inning scoring binge.

Luis Tiant went the distance for a third time allowing seven hits.
