Mickley Stanley's sacrifice fly with the bases loaded in the tenth brought in the winning run last night as the Detroit Tigers edged the Boston Red Sox 6-5.

The Sox trailed 5-2 going into the seventh, but Carl Yastrzemski capped a three run rally with a double to tie the game and send it into extra innings. Yaz also had a homer in the fourth and was thrown out of the game. Luis Tiant took the loss, pitching all ten innings.
