Steve Vickers scored a hat trick to lead the New York attack as the Rangers eliminated the Boston Bruins in the NHL Stanley Cup quarter-finals, 6-3, in the Boston Garden last night.

Vickers waited only 33 seconds after the opening face-off before he slipped the first of his three goals past Boston's busy goalie, Ross Brooks.

Bill Fairbairn shared the spotlight with three assists, earning him the series scoring title with eight points.

The Rangers will meet the winner of the Chicago-St. Louis series in the Western Division.
