About 100 members of the Ad Hoc Committee to stop U.S. Intervention in the Middle East staged a rally and march yesterday at Government Center. The protest included members of pro-Arab and pro-Palestinian groups, the Socialist Workers Party (SWP), and the Sparticist-Revolutionary Communist Youth (RYC) Organization.
After an hour-long series of speeches, the group marched through the streets surrounding Government Center chanting: "Palestine, Vietnam--no more money, no more bombs."
Members of pro-Arab and anti-Zionist groups said they were basically opposed to U.S. aid to Israel. Several Palestinian Arab groups pleaded for the Arabs' right to self-determination.
Members of the SWP and Sparticist/RCY groups said they oppose U.S. aid to either Israel or the Arabs because such aid "will not improve the situation of the proletariat."
