The New York Mets took a one-game edge in the World Series last night as Jerry Koosman and Tug McGraw combined on a shutout of the Oakland A's in New York, 2-0.

The Mets struck first in the second inning on a double by Cleon Jones and John Milner's single. The Mets added to their lead in the sixth inning on a walk to Jerry Grote and a triple by Don Hahn.
