Harvard Six Hold On, Down Dartmouth, 7-5

HANOVER N H--Dartmouth gave the Crimson hockey team a scart last night, but Harvard held on re down the Big Green 7.5 in Hanover.

The chilly hockey fans in Davis Rank their team come back from a 4.0 deficit to tie the game at 4-4 as a result of a three goal performance by Fred Riggall.

The Big Green behind some loudly fans, who were going wild to say the least, almost won the game. "We got a little careless in the middle period," Harvard coach Bill Cleary said. "We made three mistakes and they capitalized. But the kids didn't give up, that's the sign of a good team. We didn't give up against Cornell either."

The Crimson jumped out to a 3-0 lead in the first period on goals by Bob Mc-Manama. Jim Thomas and Dave Gautheir. McManama got the opening tally at 8:43 on Harvard's second power play. Randy Roth did a great job of stick handing, brining the puck down the right side and passing to McManama for the score.

Thomas came up with an outstanding outstanding effort at 15-45 to notch Harvard's second goal. Battling along the boards behind the net with a Dartmouth defender all over him, he managed to get the puck out in front where he said the puck along the ice into the far owner.

The final scoring play of the opening period came just 24 seconds later with the Crimson's fourth line of Gauthier. Since Didijian and ice Hogan, who stated in placer of the injured Jim McMahon. Gauthier look the puck in front and fired it at goalie Peter Prouls for the score Hogan and Didijian assisted on the play.

Tempers flared at 11.25 of the initial period and the ensuing fight resulted in five penalties, three on Dartmouth and two on Harvard, which was a man down at the time. Then penalues were called during the period, with Dartmouth taking six of them.

The Big Green came alive after Harvard made it 4-0 on a power play goal by McManama at 6:31 of the second period. At 10:22 Dartmouth's Riggeli grabbed the puck after a scramble in front of the Harvard net and shot is past Harvard's goalie Joe Hertagena for Dartmouth first score.

Three numbers after has first score Rigell took a long first shot that went between Bertagna's shoulder and the post. The Big Green power play took advantage of a tripping call on McManama at 16 14 as Bill Berry scored Dartmouth's third goal.

Dartmouth tied the game at 2:08 of the third as Riggell got the has track on an unassrsted goal. The Crimson didn't let up however and came back with goals by Bob Goodenon and Gauther. Dartmouth's Bill Dumbar brought his team back within one at 17:08 BullCrokery iced the game at 19:50 scoring in an empty net.

"Dartmouth is no easy place to play in Cleary said, "Talk shout pits. Dartmouth played very welt though, but our kids did a belluya job."

"Every team that plays us is really up No matter what our record is they want to beat us. The important thing is that we won," he concluded.
