PARIS--Communist China signed a contract Monday to purchase two supersonic Concorde jetliners from the French and British manufacturers.
Henri Ziegler, president of Aerospatiale, the French partner with the British Aircraft Corp. in the Concorde's construction, said the supersonic aircraft will be able to connect Paris and Peking in eight hours, but did not indicate how many stops the trip would require. The aircraft will be utilized by the Chinese national airline.
