SAN CLEMENTE, Cal.--President Nixon watched a portion of the televised Democratic convention which nominated Senator George McGovern for president but "didn't follow it at all," press secretary Ronald Ziegler said.
Ziegler said Nixon had no immediate comment on the South Dakota senator's nomination nor was he expected to be in contact with him.
In addition to watching the convention proceedings, Ziegler said, the President had dinner with his wife and relaxed at the western White House, where he has been on a working vacation for the past ten days.
