Yale Owns Up

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

Yale went through its most sedate commencement in five years Monday, and accordingly awarded 3 of its 12 honorary degrees to Officers of Harvard.

Paul A. Freund. University Professor and Stephen W. Kutfler. Winthrop Professor of Neurobiology, received honorary doctorates along with Francis T.P. Plimpton the lawyer-diplomat who is a member of the Board of Overseers.

Yale President Kingman Brewster Jr. was his usual affable self when he acknowledged Yale's academic maturity and gave one of the nine other honararies to Henry Ford 2nd, who resigned from the Class of '40 when he turned in a bogus termpaper the spring of his senior year.
