Tad Jones Shrugs As Elis Say No

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

T.A.D. Jones, Yale '07 lies uneasy in his grave today. The gentlemen from New Haven have decided that competing against Harvard is not the most important thing that they will ever do in their lives. Back in the '20s, Jones used to tell his Yale teams that it was. Apparently, the Yale varsity track team doesn't buy that idea any longer.

Yesterday, the majority of the Eli squad chose not to race against Harvard next Monday, when the two schools were scheduled to meet at Cambridge. The race had been postponed last Sunday because of rain, and now that most Yale runners have completed exams, they reportedly view the commitment as an imposition on their time. "This is sad," said one Yale alumnus. "We didn't appreciate Frank Shorter when we had him."
