Med School Votes To Oppose Mining

Two resolution opposing the recent escalation of the bombing in Indochina and the blockade of North Vienamese harbors passed overwhelmingly at a meeting of about 200 faculty and students at the Medical School Monday.

The first resolution, favored 214 to 3, demanded an immediate withdrawal of all U.S. forces in Southeast Asia and an end to all military funds allotted for the war.

"The U.S. government has used our tax money to kill, starve and maim millions of Asia people to drive one-third from their homes, to make the countryside unliveable and to waste the lives of 50,000 Americans in the process," the group's statement read.

The second resolution, favored 174 to 15, affirmed support for the Provisional revolutionary Government of South Vietnam. The group pledged to contribute one day's pay to purchase medical supplies for all people in war-torn countries of Southeast Asia, including those areas not controlled by U.S. forces.

Petitions are now circulating in Boston hospitals to gather support for the drive.
