8 Takeaways From Harvard’s Task Force Reports
You can bring a lady to the Harvard Club of New York but you cannot let her drink--at least in the club's bar which remains off-limits to women until two-thirds of the club's membership agree to allow women full membership rights.
Last week's open-door resolution fell 18 votes short of the needed two-thirds majority. Albert H. Gordon '23, president of the club, agreed that indeed that was no way to treat the ladies and promised another vote whould be taken soon. The Board of Directors of the Associated Harvard Alumni, embarrassed by the incident, seconded his motion on Tuesday.
