Bruins Win It All, Blank Rangers 3-0

By John L. Powers

Bobby Orr made sure of that last night with a power-play blast early in the first period at New York's Madison Square Garden, and after the Bruins held off a two-man New York Ranger advantage midway through the game, Boston's superiority was never seriously challenged.

Bruin forward Wayne Cashman deflected in another Orr slap shot early in the final period and added a third goal with a shot that broke through goalie Gilles Villemure's pads and trickled into the net with only a few minutes to play.
