Three hundred forty-six members of the Professional Management Development (PMD) program at the Business School flew to Cape Kennedy yesterday to view the Apollo 16 launching as part of their training in decision-making.
Morgan Maxfield--a student in the program and chairman of the class association that made the trip--said the trip was undertaken to "view the precision with which NASA makes decisions."
The class association invited every student and faculty member in the PMD program to take the trip on a voluntary basis. Each person who went paid an equal amount of the total cost for the trip.
The class association chartered a Pan-American Boeing 747 that arrived at Flordia's Patrick Air Force Base yesterday morning and returned to Boston last evening. The group viewed the launch from the Congressional viewing area and later toured the Florida Disneyworld.
