The Radcliffe tennis team defeated Jackson College, 5-2, yesterday in the opening match of the season. The 'Cliffies swept all four singles matches but were weak in doubles, as the team warmed up for the Barnard and Princeton games this weekend.
Meg Morgan, playing number one, downed her opponent, 6-3, 6-4, in the closest contest of the afternoon. The three other singles players won easily, but in doubles the 'Cliffies dropped two out of three matches.
"I was happy with the singles matches," coach Perla Hewes said yesterday. "However, I've been shuffling the pairing in doubles, and apparently I haven't found the right combinations."
