CRR Puts Off Decision On Blustein, Garfinkel

The Committee on Rights and Responsibilities (CRR) will not rule on the cases of Bonnie E. Blustein '72 and Alan J. Garfinkel, a fourth-year graduate student, before the start of Spring vacation.

Charges

Charles W. Burnham, professor of Mineralogy and Committee chairman, said yesterday that the CRR met Saturday to discuss the charges against the two students, who were among a group that on March 6 followed Richard J. Herrnstein, professor of Psychology, from his classroom in Allston Burr Hall to his office in William James Hall. The group shouted questions at Herrnstein, asking him to discuss the implications of his article on I.Q. that appeared in the September issue of the Atlantic Monthly.

Complaint

The complaint against Blustein, signed by Herrnstein and Dean Whitlock, also maintains that she helped to disrupt an informal talk by Herrnstein in Eliot House on March 1.

Burnham said that the CRR could not reach a decision on Saturday and that, since some CRR members are now out of town, the Committee could not meet again until late next week.

Burnham would not comment on the reasons for the decision's delay. A.H.L.
