Crimson Skaters In Ivy Lead Tie With 10 Points

The Ivy League is in the midst of one of the most wide open hockey races in years, with four teams presently tied for first place with ten points apiece. Nearing the halfway mark in the season, Harvard, Pennsylvania, Cornell and Brown all have a share of the lead.

Glancing at the won-lost records for these four teams it would appear impossible for all four to be in first, for the Crimson's perfect 5-0 league record is a far cry from Penn's mediocre 5-4 performance. But both teams, along with Cornell (5-2) and Brown (5-3), have won five league games and have thus garnered ten points. Confusing? Perhaps, but that's the way hockey standings are figured out.

At the beginning of the week only Harvard and Penn were stop the standings, but yesterday's action changed all that. Brown beat Yel in overtime, 4-3, while Cornell, which has been struggling for wins lately, also had to go into overtime to subdue upset-minded Penn, 7-6.
