South House Vote On ACSR Draws No House Reaction

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

South House's refusal to send delegates to elect undergraduate representatives to the Advisory Committee on Shareholder Responsibility (ACSR) drew little response from the Administration or other Houses yesterday.

Dean Whitlock said yesterday that he had "no reaction" to South House's decision. I'm not trying to be cute, but I don't know of any other Houses that are going to take that position," Whitlock said.

South House voted Wednesday not to participate in the ACSR on the grounds that the committee would not have any direct power, and that the process for selecting committee members was too indirect.

The two student members of the ACSR will be chosen by a panel composed of two elected representatives from each House. Whitlock announced last week. The deadline for Houses to submit names of their delegates in January 12.
