Directors of Coop To Delay Decision On Farah Boycott

The Board of Directors of the Harvard Coop will postpone a decision today on joining the nationwide boycott of Farah pants, Joseph Angland, a first-year law student and a student director, said yesterday.

Angland said yesterday that he has not yet received the new information he planned to present at today's Board meeting, and on which the Board of Directors planned to base its decision.

Officials of the Amalgamated Clothing Workers of America (ACWA), the group leading the boycott of Farah, yesterday charged that the Coop had reneged on an agreement to join the boycott. Reuben Fishman, a New England representative of the ACWA, said that Sanford Litwin general merchandise manager of the Coop, had agreed in July to discontinue sale of Farah pants.

Litwin denied making the agreement, although he said that he had met with the ACWA in July. "At no time did I make a statement that we would stop selling Farah merchandise," he said.
