One Team in Each Sport Is Unbeaten After House Intramural Sports Action

One team in each sport emerged with a still untarnished record in yesterday's House intramural action. In football, Lowell's touch team and Quincy's tackle team remained unbeaten, while Eliot completed its season with a 5-0 record in A league soccer.

Eliot and Leverett clinched first place in their intramural soccer leagues. Eliot finished stop the A league while Leverett beat Lowell, 4-2, to gain first place in the B league at 4-0-1.

The playoffs for the soccer championship are scheduled to start on next Wednesday for the top two finishers in both leagues. Leverett will open against Adams and Lowell will test Eliot's undefeated eleven in the single elimination playoff.

Adams completed its regular season play earlier this week, finished with a 3-1-1 record in the A league. Lowell's only loss was to Leverett in yesterday's game.

Scoreless Tie

Winthrop and Kirkland fought to a scoreless tie to highlight yesterday's tackle football action. In other games, Quincy swamped Leverett, 22-0, and Eliot beat Mather, 15-8.

Winthrop quarterback Stan Mark was knocked out of the game in the first series with a bruised shoulder in yesterday's game. He expects to be ready for action in next week's games.

Playing both offense and defense, Jack Zwemer led Quincy to its victory yesterday. Zwemer caught one long touchdown pass and another long bomb to set up a touchdown on offense. He also recovered a fumble on defense.

Quincy currently is on top in the tackle football standings with four wins and no losses. Leverett, with a record of 2-2-1, is in second place.

Leverett and Lowell emerged victorious in yesterday's touch football action, to remain one-two in the standings.

Lowell maintained its first place position and unbeaten record by defeating Dunster, 14-0. Leverett bombed Radcliffe by a score of 27-0.

Two scheduled games were declared forfeits yesterday. The Dudley-Kirkland game was declared a double forfeit when neither team showed, and Quincy forfeited to Winthrop.

Lowell and Leverett have both won six games, but Leverett is in second place, having lost a squeaker to Lowell, 20-19, earlier in the season. Lowell faces another stiff test on Thursday when it plays a strong Eliot team.
