Freshman Booters Conquer Dartmouth

After watching Dartmouth carry the play for the first 15 minutes the freshman soccer team managed to pull itself together to rally for a 21 victors yesterday at Soldiers Field Down by a goal after onto three minutes, the Frosh behind the offensive power of forward Bobby Magee came on strong and outhastled the Big Green for the win.

It was a good day for Magee. He assisted on Steve Hines's tying goal and scored the game winner unassisted. To add to his accomplishments, he was elected a co-captain of the team along with Geoff Hargadon, before the game.

The first goal of the game came on an outstanding effort by Dartmouth forward Alf Alford. He dribbled the ball right up the middle of the field through the bewildered Crimson defense and scored on a low shot into the left corner just past the during goalie George McKennan.

In looked it would be a long day for the freshmen but the offense who had but a handful of shots on the Dartmouth goalie during the first 30 minutes got untracked with just six minutes 'n the half and tied up the game. I he goal scored Hines came as a result of sharp passing by the Crimson line Hines booted the ball across the goal mouth and into the left hand corner.

In the second half the fresh picked up where they left off at the end of the first. They continued to hustle and beat the Green to the hall Magee came through with the big goal eight minutes into the final half. He stole the ball and proceeded to dribble it down the left side, around a Dartmouth defender and drive past a sprawling Green goaltender.

I have to gave my boys a lot of credit when they come back like that, "coach Dana Getchell said. "Dartmouth started out as fast as any freshman college team I've ever seen, I though they'd blow its right off the legal.

The team's record new stands of 3-4. After an opening game loss to Exeter, the squad has now taken three straight and the momentum from this spitted victors should make them tough to beat the rest at the season.
