Brandeis University alumni voted overwhelmingly yesterday to reject the candidacy of black militant Angela Y. Davis and re-elected Morton L. Ginsberg, a New York lawyer, as president of the Brandeis Alumni Association.

The vote was 2489 for Ginsberg, 793 for Davis, Brandeis has about 6000 alumni.

Davis's name was-placed in nomination by an independent group which circulated petitions to get her name on the ballot. There is a provision for such petition candidates in the alumni association constitution.
