Cox Hints CRR Action This Week

Archibald Cox '34, hinted yesterday that the University would announce disciplinary action against some disrupters of the March 26 counter teaching. "If it's a surprise to anyone," Cox added however, "it will be because it's not as exciting as you'd think."

Meanwhile, YAF is going ahead with its plans to file charges with the CRR against 12 to 15 protestors.

Dean Dunlop implied that the University would discipline only a small number of students. "Given the problem of identification and evidence, it would be difficult to get a large number," he said. "Mere presence in the building is not grounds for discipline, it would take evidence of a substantial sort."

Dunlop also said that, although he would give student suggestions for revisions in the current CRR "every consideration," the committee as it now stands is "empowered to proceed" in disciplinary measures. However, if the Faculty decides to constitute a new committee, such actions would be delayed for some time.
