Dartmouth's Paul Erland was the only Ivy League player selected to the New England All-Star basketball team by the National Association of Basketball Coaches.

Harvard sophomore James Brown joined Yale senior Jim Morgan and Brown guards Russ Taylor and Arnie Berman on the second squad. The Crimson's Floyd Lewis and Dartmouth's James Brown were placed on the third team.

Joining Erland on the first team were Massachusetts' Julius Erving, Bob Kissane of Holy Cross, Jim O'Brien of Boston College, and Ernie DeGregorio of Providence.

Erving led all New England players with an average of 28 points and 21 rebounds per game.
