MatmenEnter Eastern Meet

Finishing the season with a 14-5 season record, Harvard's varsity wrestling team enters the opening session of the Eastern Championships today at Annapolis, Md. with high hopes of placing at least fifth in a 16-team field.

Second in the Ivy League behind Princeton, the Crimson will expect tough competition from host and defending champion Navy, Army, Lehigh, Penn State, and Princeton.

Top individual prospects for Harvard include senior Mark Faller, who was second in the Easterns last year at 158 pounds and completed this season with a 14-2 mark at 167 pounds, and captain Pat Coleman, who finished the year with a record of 15-3-1. Coleman will be entered at 150 pounds in the Easterns.

"I feel like I'm reaching my peak now for the Easterns," Coleman said after last Saturday's victory over Pennsylvania. "At the beginning of the year a lot of little injuries bothered me but now I feel good all over."

Sophomore Starr

Sophomore sensation Rich Starr is also expected to finish high in the competition. Starr posted a 15-2-2 record this season and will be one of the quickest individuals entered in the 177 pound division.

Poor Show

Since the tournament's beginning in 1934, Harvard has had only two individual champions and as a team has never finished higher than a third place tie. Last year the Crimson finished eighth in the competition.
