To the Editors of the CRIMSON:

In your issue of Tuesday, March 9, you incorrectly attributed the cancellation of the Physics Department Colloquium to its scheduled speaker, Dr. E. H. Land, President of the Polaroid Corporation. I decided, in consultation with an ad hoc committee of five members of the Department of Physics, to cancel the colloquium when it became clear that conditions permitting a scientific presentation could not be maintained. We deplore the loss to the Harvard community of the opportunity to hear from Dr. Land himself about the latest results in his unique and exciting research on color vision.
