Crimson Fencers Seeking Ivy Win

Disappointed with its close losses to Princeton and Penn the last two weekends. Harvard's varsity fencing team is anxious to record its first Ivy League win of the season against Cornell at 2 p.m. today in the IAB.

"The team knows we should definitely be second in the Ivy League." coach Edo Marion said. "We'll beat Cornell."

Without a Win

The Big Red and Harvard are the only Ivy teams without a League victory this season. Cornell also lost a close match to Princeton, dropping the final three points when the match score stood at 13-11.

Cornell is 11-7 for the season, but several wins have come against inexperienced teams like Appalachian State. St. Augustine, and Muhlenberg.

Marion blamed inexperience in individual tournaments for the Crimson's close loss to Princeton. "You can be very well drilled, but you have to try yourself as an individual in order to overcome the tension of an important match," he said.
