A recruiter from the Navy's civilian-operated Underwater Sound Lab in New London, Conn., yesterday cancelled an appointment set for 9 a. m. this morning at the Office for Graduate and Career Plans (OGCP).
John B. Fox '59, director of the OGCP, said last night that the recruiter called his office yesterday morning and was told that only two people had signed up for interviews today.
The recruiter then decided to cancel his visit and asked that the two people signed up for interviews forward resumes to the Underwater Sound Lab.
SDS had scheduled a rally at 11 a. m. today at University Hall to protest the recruiter's appearance. A march was planned from there to the OGCP.
A scheduled appearance by a Marine recruiter was cancelled earlier this month when no one signed up for an interview at the OGCP.
