In a personal vendetta, M. "Deac" Dake scored 23 points in a span of 42 seconds to lead the CRIMSON past the Daily Pennsylvanian, 23-2, in a game played at halftime Friday night in the Palestra.

The Pennsylvanian tried a traditional strategy to win. Starting Mary "Skyscraper" Dash, 7' 5", at center, the Pennsylvanian won the tap and went into a stall, playing for the last shot.

With one minute left in the game, the CRIMSON broke the stall when forward Jon "Mouth" Carlson said, "Boy, are you guys chicken." to Penn forward Jeff "Fiery" Rothbard, Angered, Rothbard fired a looping pass to the basket for "Skyscraper", but Dake went high in the air to intercept the pass at the basket.

Unfortunately, the referee called Dake for goal-tending. Dake, who played varsity four years at St. John's of Quinkoset. Kansas, without ever committing a foul and was named "Quinkoset Good Clean Guy of the Year" four times, was furious at the call.

Clenching his perfect attendance pin from P. S. 2. Dake then went on this rampage, scoring on eleven straight shots. With fifteen seconds left. Dake called time out and apologized to the entire Palestra crowd for losing his temper. To a standing ovation, the referee awarded Dake. a free foul shot for being "Palestra Do-Bee of the Year."
