Robert D. Clark, president of the University of Oregon, has turned over the list of students enrolled in a fall-term class to the Federal Bureau of Investigation in connection with a campus bombing in December.
The president's office confirmed yesterday that the list of over 200 students had been given the FBI after the student newspaper, the Emerald, printed an article about it.
Public Record
Clark said he gave the FBI the list after conferring with legal advisers who told him that an enrollment list is a matter of public record. He said a class enrollment list was not a student record as defined by the university.
The course involved was titled "Critical Spirit" and was offered by the sociology department under a program in which students may initiate requests for classes.
