For the third week in succession, Cornell Heisman Trophy candidate Ed Marinaro was picked as the Ivy League's "Back of the Week" last Saturday.
Marinaro carried 47 times against Cornell for 272 yards, 200 in the second half, one touchdown, and 45 yards on the winning Cornell drive in the closing minutes.
The senior halfback broke Steve Owen's career rushing record on his second carry of the year, and he became the first collegiate player to surpass the 4000 yard mark in only three years.
Marinaro is also only one touchdown away from two Ivy career records. Princeton fullback Cosmo Iacavazzi finished his 1964 senior season with 28 touchdowns and 168 points. Marinaro scored his 27th career touchdown last Saturday to compile 164 total points with three games remaining in the season.
