The body of a Harvard sophomore was discovered around 10 p.m. last night in his room in Cabot Hall. Radcliffe President Mary I. Bunting confirmed the incident through Deane W. Lord, director of the Radcliffe News and Publications Office.
According to a Cabot resident, the body was discovered hanging in the room by a girl who is also a resident of Cabot. The student said last night that the girl became suspicious of the whereabouts of the sophomore and obtained a key to his room.
The name of the dead student is being withheld pending notification of the family, as is the name of the girl who discovered him.
Both Harvard police and Radcliffe officials said they did not know where the body was taken for medical examination, and the doctor's report of the circumstances of the death has not been received.
