Penn State has again won the Lambert Trophy as the outstanding college football team in the East.

The Nittany Lions, bound for the Cotton Bowl to face either Texas or Arkansas, were a unanimous choice for the award, collecting 80 points in the final voting to 69 for Dartmouth, last year's winner.

The Crimson finished tenth in the balloting. Other members of the top ten, from third to ninth, were Boston College, Cornell, Temple, Columbia, Villanova, West Virginia, and Army.
