Still plagued by injuries, Harvard's varsity wrestling team will be trying to improve on its 6-3 record when it meets a relatively weak C.C.N.Y. squad tomorrow in the I.A.B.

"C.C.N.Y. has a 2-5 record and its squad is inexperienced but it's close to exams, and some of our guys are finding it hard to make weight." coach John Lee said yesterday. "This combined with our growing amount of injuries could make it close."

Lee was forced to juggle his lineup for his last meet due to injuries to two of his key individuals. Dave Scanlon, 190 pounds, injured his knee last week in practice and will not be recovered in time for C.C.N.Y. Two-year letterman Tony Rayner, who could have filled the gap, is suffering the pains of an infected jaw and his ability to perform tomorrow is questionable.

The whole problem was complicated yesterday when Lee lost the services of 158-pound regular Collin Mangrum, as the result of a knee injury suffered in practice.

This week, with Mangrum's accident, the unexpected lingering on of Scanlon's and Rayner's injuries, and the expected reading period blahs, Lee has been scurrying to and from his clipboard, shuffling and reshuffling an evershrinking list of wrestlers in an attempt to put together a lineup for C.C.N.Y.

Right now, it looks like Jay Galeski, 118 pounds; Dave Kreis, 126 pounds; Gerry Kahrilas, a transfer student from Brown making his season's debut, 134 pounds; Josh Henson, 142 pounds; Jon Peters, 150 pounds; captain Pat Coleman, 158 pounds; Mike Slutzker or Mark Faller, 167 pounds; Faller or a recovered Rayner, 177 pounds; Rich Starr, 190 pounds; and heavyweight Tom Tripp.

From Kahrilas through Starr, each man will be wrestling in a weight class one above his normal bracket.

After C.C.N.Y., the Crimson are scheduled to face M.I.T next Thursday night. However, Lee is attempting to cancel the meet because it falls on the eve of exams.
