Fall Registration May Be Changed

By Michael E. Kinsley

Harvard has tentative plans to take the tedium out of registration next Fall.

Those who look forward to standing in long lines winding down the steps of Memorial Hall, waiting for the privilege of writing their names, addresses, parents' names, telephone numbers, names, parents, names, addresses, names, etc. just as Harvard men have done for decades, are in for a disappointment.

Robert V. Shenton, University Registrar, and Dean May have discussed with the Committee on Undergraduate Education plans to computerize Faculty of Arts and Sciences registration beginning next Fall, so that each piece of information will only have to be written once.

Further plans call for moving upperclass registration to the Houses Freshmen and the GSAS will reportedly still register at separate times in Mem Hall.

Registration this Fall is on September 28. Bring a pen.
